Pregnancy journal and Shushybye DVD: it’s time for mommy and baby #review #giveaway

Friday Finds (review + giveaway): From Pea to Pumpkin + Shushybye Baby

Time for Mommy and Baby: a pregnancy journal and a baby DVD collection ~ Behavioral ChildEmily’s was my first pregnancy and it was a huge shock. I didn’t fully understand the cravings, aches, and the weeks-feeling-like-a-whole-lifetime thing that I was warned of, till I was in the midst of it. It’s funny how in hindsight, it all seems to have happened in the blink of an eye. I wish I had written some of my thoughts and feelings down, because all the memories of the very significant moments at the time are now mostly forgotten. And then she was finally born! And in those early months, I honestly didn’t know what to do with her!

My Friday Find this week is two-fold: A pregnancy journal I wish I’d thought of, and a baby TV program I’ve written about previously. It’s time for mommy and baby!

From Pea to Pumpkin: A Pregnancy Journal to preserve precious, fleeting memories

From Pea to Pumpkin A Pregnancy Journal ~ Behavioral ChildGeralyn Broder Murray, like most pregnant women, felt those cravings, those aches, and the freezing of time, during her pregnancy. But unlike most women, she actually created a journal the rest of us only thought of, after the fact.

From Pea to Pumpkin is a preformatted pregnancy journal, which means it gives an expecting mother tons of hints and prompts of things to record during a pregnancy. It starts with We’re Having a Baby (Week 6), and goes week by week all the way through Week 40 of the pregnancy, ending with a final page on The Birth. My only complaint about it is that I wish it was around about 10 years ago, instead of being published in March 2013.

There is the cutest video made for From Pea to Pumpkin that, frankly, nothing I write about it will come close:

The pregnancy journal is sold in many retail outlets like Babies ‘R Us, Barnes & Noble, and Amazon ($15.99)

Shushybye Baby: 3 DVD complete collection of the entire TV show for your little ones

Shyshybye Baby: 3 DVD collection ~ Behavioral ChildCatchy tunes, original songs, colorful Shushy characters and cool stories… pretty much everything you’d need to get your baby (or toddler) entertained. A few weeks ago I wrote about BabyFirst TV’s great programming for little children and when I was given the opportunity to review and give away the 3 DVD collection for the entire Shushybye Baby TV show, one of the most popular on BabyFirst TV’s original programming line-up, I couldn’t pass it up!

New studies about TV-viewing habits in children are actually changing the trend from no-TV to educational-TV. I’m actually working a blog post to bring you the latest in the research about TV and the medical community’s recommendation, but I can tell you right now that monitored, short segments of carefully-selected TV viewing by little children is actually good for them.

Here’s a little video clip, Dream On, to show a sample of their songs and a glimpse at the Sushybye characters:

You can find more information on Shushybye Baby on their lovely website, about the Dreamsters, Shushybye characters, along with music and video clips, and fun and games.
